STARR
Sabina’s Trust Against Revolvers and Racism (STARR) was set up by Sabina’s family following her murder in 2003. Sabina was a victim of gun crime.
STARR campaigns to eliminate the use of guns and firearms in society and to support all victims of gun crimes, regardless of race, nationality or ethnic origin, in their quest for justice.
STARR’s aims are:
- To raise awareness regarding the availability of guns and the consequences of carrying and using them;
- To raise awareness of the painful impact on victimised families who suffer death or injuries as a result of gun crimes;
- To ensure that the Criminal Justice System is responsive to the needs of the victims and their families;
- To provide legal representation and advocacy for families at court; and
- To inform and support victims and their families by developing self help and network initiatives.
