Qi Lin
Development worker

Office: Min Quan, Southampton
Start Date: October 2006

Qi Lin joined the Min Quan project in Southampton in 2006. His role is to create an effective victim support infrastructure across Greater Manchester by developing coherent relationships with voluntary, community and statutory agencies and to engage the Chinese community.

He has developed a strategic partnership with Chinese Association of Southampton and Chinese Students and Scholar Association of Southampton, and established Southampton Race Solidarity Group which unites many diverse BME communities to tackle racial harassment and violence in the locality.  He believes in putting Chinese victims at the centre and providing culturally appropriate victim support.

“Empowering Chinese and other BME communities against racism is a long struggle, but I believe any little step and little achievement will make a difference.”

Before coming to The Monitoring Group, Lin worked for 10 years in China as a radio broadcaster.
